"Birth oft he Idol" ... by Spiros Gratsias, Unique Original Hand-Drawn Ink on Paper, 58 x 42 cm

€800.00

The illustration captures the convergence of nature, art, and the divine. The Cycladic idol, emblematic of ancient Aegean culture and its spiritual pursuits, is depicted as not just a creation of human hands, but as born from the very rocks of the Cyclades themselves. A vast full moon, glowing brilliantly, rests behind the idol's upper torso, casting an ethereal light that enhances its features, bridging the realms of terrestrial and celestial, tangible and ethereal, and the observable and the mystical. This depiction underscores the intertwined nature of art, tradition, and spirituality with the environment from which they originate. It honors ancestral legacies, salutes the enigmas of ancient societies, and stands as a witness to the unyielding might of nature and faith.
